By using OhMyDays, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information Stored Locally on Your Device

OhMyDays stores all user data locally on your device. This includes:

• Events: Event titles, dates, categories, and settings you create
• Photos: Images you select from your photo library for event backgrounds
• Preferences: App settings like theme, date format, and notification preferences
• Widget Configuration: Settings for your home screen widgets

Important: This data stays on your device. We cannot access, view, or retrieve this information.

1.2 Information Temporarily Stored When Sharing

When you use the "Share a Copy" feature (Pro only), the following event data is temporarily uploaded to our servers (Firebase):

• Event details: Title, date, end date, category, type, and display settings
• Event photo: A compressed version of the event's background photo (if applicable)

This data is:

• Temporary: Automatically expires and is deleted after 12 hours
• Minimal: Only contains the information needed to recreate the event
• User-initiated: Only uploaded when you explicitly tap "Share Link"
• Anonymised: No personal identifiers, account info, or device info is attached

1.3 Information Collected for Subscriptions

If you purchase OhMyDays Pro:

• Subscription status: We receive confirmation of your subscription status from the App Store
• Purchase receipts: Used to verify and restore purchases

Note: All payment information is handled directly by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment details, credit card numbers, or billing information.

1.4 Basic Analytics (Anonymous)

We may collect anonymous, aggregated analytics to improve the app:

• App crashes and error reports
• General usage statistics (e.g., which features are popular)
• Device type and iOS version (for compatibility)

This data is anonymized and cannot be used to identify you personally.

1.5 Information We Do NOT Collect

• Your name, email, or contact information
• Your location or GPS data
• Your contacts or address book
• Content of your events or personal notes
• Your photos (we only access photos you explicitly select)
• Browsing history or activity outside the app
• Any data that could personally identify you

2. How We Use Your Information

2.1 Local Data

Data stored on your device is used solely to:

• Display your events and counters
• Show your selected photos as event backgrounds
• Power home screen widgets
• Remember your preferences
• Generate shareable counter cards

2.2 Subscription Data

Subscription information is used to:

• Unlock Pro features when you subscribe
• Restore purchases if you reinstall the app
• Verify subscription status

2.3 Analytics Data

Anonymous analytics help us:

• Fix bugs and crashes
• Understand which features are most useful
• Improve app performance
• Make better decisions about future updates

3. Data Storage and Security

3.1 Local-First Architecture

OhMyDays uses a local-first architecture, meaning:

• All your data is stored on your device
• No cloud servers store your personal information permanently
• Your data is protected by your device's security (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID)
• Data is included in your device backups (iCloud or iTunes)

The only exception is the "Share a Copy" feature, which temporarily uploads event data to Firebase (Google Cloud) for up to 12 hours to generate a shareable link. This data is automatically deleted after expiry.

While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but our local-first approach means your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to share it.

3.2 Photo Access

When you add photos to events:

• We request photo library access only when you choose to add a photo
• We only access photos you explicitly select
• Selected photos are copied to the app's local storage
• We cannot browse or access your full photo library

3.3 Data Retention

• While using the app: Your data remains on your device as long as you use OhMyDays
• When you delete the app: All app data is permanently removed from your device
• Individual events: You can delete any event at any time

4. Data Sharing

4.1 We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade any user information to third parties. Period.

4.2 Third-Party Services

OhMyDays may use the following third-party services:

• Apple App Store: For processing subscriptions and in-app purchases
• Apple Analytics: For anonymous crash reporting and basic usage statistics
• Unsplash: For searching and selecting free images to use as event backgrounds. When you use the Unsplash image search, your search queries are sent to Unsplash. Unsplash has its own Privacy Policy
• Firebase (Google Cloud): Used for the "Share a Copy" feature. When you share a copy of an event, event details and photos are temporarily stored on Firebase servers (Firestore and Cloud Storage) for up to 12 hours. Google's privacy policy applies to this data while stored: Google Privacy Policy

These services have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.

4.3 Third-Party Links

The App or our website may contain links to third-party websites or services (such as the App Store or Unsplash). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these external sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you interact with.

4.4 Sharing Features

Share Cover (counter card images):

• Counter card images are generated locally on your device
• Sharing is handled by iOS's built-in share sheet
• We do not upload or store shared cover images on any server

Share a Copy (event link — Pro only):

• Event details (title, date, category, display settings) and a compressed event photo are temporarily uploaded to Firebase
• A shareable link is generated and shared via iOS's built-in share sheet
• The shared data automatically expires and is deleted after 12 hours
• Anyone with the link can view and save the event during the 12-hour window
• No personal information, account data, or device identifiers are included in the shared data

5. Your Privacy Rights

5.1 Control Over Your Data

You have complete control over your data:

• Access: All your data is visible within the app
• Modify: Edit or update any event at any time
• Delete: Remove individual events or uninstall the app to delete all data
• Export: Use the share feature to save counter cards

5.2 Photo Library Access

You can manage photo access in your device settings:

• Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Photos
• Find OhMyDays and adjust permissions
• You can revoke access at any time

5.3 Notifications

Control notification preferences:

• Go to Settings > Notifications > OhMyDays
• Enable or disable notifications as you prefer

6. Regional Privacy Rights

6.1 European Union (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have rights under GDPR including:

• Right to access your personal data
• Right to rectification of inaccurate data
• Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")
• Right to data portability

Since OhMyDays stores all data locally on your device, you already have direct control over all these rights through the app itself.

6.2 California (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident:

• We do not sell personal information
• We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising
• You can delete your data by removing the app

7. Children's Privacy

OhMyDays is suitable for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Since the app does not collect personal information or require accounts, it is safe for family use.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do:

• Significant changes will be communicated through app updates
